ZACH MAYER

OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING COACH

Specializes In

Olympic Lifting | Weightlifting | Clean & Jerk | Snatch | Programming | Push Press | Conditioning

Zach has over seven years of coaching experience working with a variety of populations and modalities. He believes a foundation in strength is not only essential for training or sport, but is also a key component in overall wellbeing. Moving well and training smartly are the guiding principles for the clients that he coaches.

In 2012, Zach became part of the CrossFit craze and realized training would always be a part of his life. Shortly thereafter in 2013, Zach began coaching, acquiring his CF L1 & L2, NASM CPT, and USAW L1 along the way. In 2016, Zach shifted his personal focus to Olympic weightlifting and began competing on the platform. While his own training has seen different phases, Zach feels most at home training and coaching the sport of weightlifting. The clean & jerk and snatch are never perfected, so Zach loves to push himself and his clients to do what is difficult.

Zach feels most at home in the gym, and after joining Ironside as a member in 2023, could not be more passionate about fostering a supportive, hardworking, and inspiring atmosphere at Ironside Beaverton.
